WELCOME FROM THE SECRETARY-GENERAL

Dear Delegates, Sponsor Teachers, and Parents,

It is my distinct honour to welcome you to the 6th iteration of Vancouver Model United Nations, taking place from November 21st to 22nd 2026, at St. Michaels University School’s Richmond Road Campus.

While I do not know why SMUSMUN was founded six years ago, I know what Model United Nations means to me. MUN brings people together to talk about the world’s issues and have a bit of fun. Sometimes it seems that everything happening in the world is beyond us and we as the youth don’t have a say, but that is far from the truth. By getting involved in programs like MUN, the next generation of voters and leaders are informed.

This year SMUSMUN is proud to offer a completely new committee program, never before seen at SMUSMUN. Whether you are a first time delegate curiously venturing into SOCHUM or a seasoned delegate heading into FJCC, we hope that you have fun and learn something new while at our conference.
